Lily's Place is a short-stay residential home providing short breaks, giving family members some of their own time whilst the child or young person's needs are met by staff. It is fully equipped with overnight bedrooms for up to four children or young people, with complex physical and/or learning difficulties. A further three children can also be accommodated during the day. Brand new children's bedrooms have been created in a dedicated overnight wing, all on the ground floor, with full hoist systems and are large enough to accommodate all the specialist equipment that many of the children require. There is also a state of the art sensory room, multi-sensory underwater themed bathroom, large playroom and fully accessible garden featuring a soft play cabin, musical handrail, sandpit and a sensory tunnel. Staff are trained to look after the children and young people who often have complicated individual care needs. Staff have particular skills in developing effective communication strategies for every individual.
We also run Project My Time which provides holiday activities for children and young people - the idea is for them to have lots of fun!
Trips and activities have included Chessington World of Adventures, Splashdown, pantomimes, bowling, swimming, crabbing, ringos, alpaca walking and much more.
Young people give feedback at the end of every session so their favourite activities can be incorporated into the timetable for the forthcoming holidays.
